Feel free to be delighted by this 4 question survey on beauty trivia

survey

reflection: Survey monkey was fun. First because the monkey is cute and it is my favorite animal. Second because it lets you be creative and use the different types of questions involved in a survey. It was also user-friendly.

Write a reflection on what we have learned so far or a question on educational technology

I have really enjoyed the technology classes. By far the best I have taken. I have learned how to create surveys which I have used already in classroom. I had some difficulty using the short link and use in in another website. My question would be how to make sure I am delivering the correct information.
Also how do you get students more involved in learning and/or using technology?

Here is my first podcast!! I know, I know I need to speak up....

Courage to Teach

The Courage to Teach

I found this article very interesting. It kind of made me think of a double sided coin. As an educator, I have encountered with many of the same struggles as the author. I wonder these past years I could have avoided those feelings of inadequacy and nervousness. To represent this double-sided effect I enjoyed reading about Eric and Alan and their differences. It was interesting to see how similar upbringings yet different experiences brought different persona points of views on teaching techniques. As an administrator I would take more helful steps to help create a collaborative culture with our teachers. This would help them feel more at ease knowing that other collegues experience the same feelings. Helping build a strong foundation in the educator's teaching year to year will also help reinforce and self-reflect on their views. Also, an administrator could help find ways for teachers to watch each other during instruction which helps them self-evaluate themselves. Also encourage them to check for other points of views in their collegues instructions and what they could incorporate into their own classrooms.

To help educators not feel like Eric (inferior) when comparing himself to ther collegues, there needs to be encouragement but also collaboration. This will help them begin to take it to a new level on their own when practicing their craft. The administrator should take part in this collaboration. He should model personal reflection as tools for improvement. As well as building on these personal relationships encouraging teachers to stay connected with their students. This triangle (teacher, student, craft) will bring a more coherent and encouraging practice for all.
